What this unit is about
Unit 15 is about understanding how and why websites are built, and then actually building one yourself. You will learn the theory behind good web design, explore how search engines rank websites, and use HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create a multi-page website that meets a real client brief.

Learning aims in detail
Learning Aim A - Theory You need to understand: the purpose and types of websites, design principles, SEO, performance factors, and accessibility/legal requirements.
Learning Aim B - Design Given a client brief, you produce planning documents: wireframes, site maps, colour schemes, font choices, and written justifications.
Learning Aim C - Build You build the actual website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, test it, and evaluate it against the original brief.
